Backup and Disaster Recovery — your data is safe even when everything else fails

We design and deploy backup systems matched to real requirements — 3-2-1 strategy, automation, verification, and regular restore testing. RTO and RPO not as marketing buzzwords, but as contractual commitments.

What we deploy

Backup and DR service scope

Backup isn't just creating copies — it's a whole system: strategy, automation, monitoring, and regular restore testing.

3-2-1 backup strategy

3 copies of data, on 2 different media, with 1 offsite or offline. Protection against hardware failure, human error, ransomware, and a location disaster. We design a strategy matched to data criticality.

Immutable backup (ransomware protection)

Immutable backups — ransomware can't encrypt or delete them. S3 Object Lock storage, Synology Immutable Snapshot, WORM tapes. A key protection layer today.

Cloud backup

Automatic cloud backup (Azure Blob, AWS S3, Backblaze B2) as an offsite copy. End-to-end encryption, deduplication to minimize transfers. Fast restore from the cloud when the local copy isn't available.

Virtual machine backup

Veeam Backup & Replication, Synology Active Backup, Windows Server Backup. Agentless backups for VMware and Hyper-V VMs. Instant Recovery — running a VM directly from a backup in minutes.

Replication as a DR element

Asynchronous replication of VMs and data to a backup location or cloud. VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) — automated switchover to the DR site. RTO of a dozen minutes instead of hours.

Restore testing and reporting

Regularly scheduled full restore tests — the only measure that backup works. Test reports as proof for management and auditors. Alerts for failed backup jobs and RPO breaches.

A backup that hasn't been tested isn't a backup

It's just hope — and that hope usually fails at the worst possible moment.

We deliver backup systems with built-in restore tests and reports. Management gets proof that data is protected — not a promise.

FAQ

Backup and Disaster Recovery questions

3 copies of data (original + 2 copies), on 2 different media types (e.g. NAS and cloud), with 1 copy stored offsite or offline. The minimum that protects against the most common data loss scenarios: disk failure, human error, server room fire, ransomware.
Ransomware encrypts everything it can access — including mounted backup resources. Protection: immutable backup (unmodifiable for a defined time), an offline copy (disconnected from the network), and cloud backup with Object Lock. None of these copies should be accessible via the same system being attacked.
It depends on the acceptable RPO (how much data you can lose). Critical systems (ERP, CRM) — backup hourly or continuous replication. File servers — daily with weekly and monthly retention. Archival data — weekly. Define RPO for each system and choose the schedule accordingly.
Restore time depends on the data volume and backup system. With good architecture (Veeam Instant Recovery) — key VMs run in 15–30 minutes. Full restore of all data — a few hours to a day. Without backup — paying the ransom (with no guarantee of recovery) or losing everything.
